Quiz: Highest Mountains in Surprisingly Flat Countries.

When we think of the highest mountain in any country, we think of snow-capped peaks and climbers utilizing specialized gear to get to the top.  Well, here are a sample of the highest mountains in relatively flat countries, all under 3000m.  Your objective in the Quiz below is to guess the height of the highest mountain presented.  In case you’re not aware, these hints may further help you:

  • The picture.  Is there snow?  Plenty of trees?  Usually higher elevations will have more snow and less trees.
  • The country.  Warmer countries closer to the equator are less likely to have snow at their mountain tops, given the same elevation.
  • The average elevation.  In most cases, the highest elevation in any country will be significantly greater than the average elevation.

And if any of the above doesn’t help, well, there’s Wikipedia (but that spoils much of the fun right?)  Anyways, good luck!
